We were so sorry to hear the sad news of Declan’s passing. Sincere condolences to all the Carey family. I often met Declan on his trips to Celbridge in Kildare and also back home in the pub in Thomastown. We always had great chats about both places when we met. Declan was an absolute gentlemen and so friendly. He will be sorely missed. RIP Declan

I was very sad to hear of Declan's passing. Having lived over the pub many years ago both declan and Liz were very kind to me while I was there and I remember the girls when they were young too living up over the pub. We are both very sad to hear of Declan's passing. Declan was a kind and decent man. He was a great neighbour to me when I had my studio on Logan Street. My memory of him will always be how much his eyes lit up when he mentioned his daughters. He was so proud of how gorgeous and smart they each were and he loved travelling with Liz to see them overseas. My sincere condolences to Liz, Lisa, Caroline, Alice, and all the extended family. RIP

It was with a huge sense of shock that news of Declans death arrived in Thomastown on Wednsday last. Both Declan and Liz made a very important contribution to the social and business life of the town over the last 30 or so years. Declan was rightly proud of his endeavours in Thomastown but nothing gave him more pride than to see his three daughters Lisa Caroline and Alice grow into the lovely and successful young women they have become. While Declan leaves us in person his legacy lives on. May He Rest In Peace. Sim.
