I grew up with Decky, and it was a privilege to have known him. He was a couple of years older than me, but he never let that be a barrier — his great gift was in levelling the ground between people.

Decky was kind, honourable, and thoughtful to both older and younger alike. Life gave him wisdom beyond books, and his generosity of spirit left a mark on all who knew him.
