Denis HOBSON

Rach and John so sorry to hear the sad news of Denis' death. The memories of staying at your house regaling stories of the night before with your dad always outdoing our teenage escapades with his own. The craic and scutting we had in the drama group . Morgans wedding. Constantly intertwined and always missed .

Saddened to learn of the passing of dear Denis. Condolences to his family and friends. Denis was a rugby prop-forward on our 1963 De La Salle Churchtown (Dublin) senior cup team. We had a good run that year getting to the semi-finals in the then Lansdowne Road. Denis was one of the younger players on the team and he managed famously in the heigh pressure front row even though he was one of the youngest players on the team. He executed his efforts in sports and life with courage, good humor and high spirits. It was good to know you Denis - rest in peace.

I was so sad to learn of Denis’s death only yesterday and would like to pass on my condolences to John and Rachel. Denis was a wonderful charming man and I always felt uplifted when meeting him at literary events in Listowel. I will miss his vibrancy and humour at the forthcoming writers week.

Although I haven’t met Denis for many years, I was very sad to read of his passing. My sincere sympathy to all of his family.

Sincere condolences to Denis' family and friends on his sad and untimely passing. We were fortunate to celebrate our wedding with Denis in 2017. We have a gorgeous photo of him cheering for us on our walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, fist pumping in the air and a huge smile on his face. He had such great energy and enthusiasm and put us at such ease on the day and beforehand too. Such a lovely, friendly man. We are deeply sorry for your loss.

When he worked in West Limerick Resources he was so kind, helpful and always brightened my day whenever we talked. Then I got to see him on stage and again this time the plays he was in made me laugh so much !! He was always there for advice and a listening ear. Then in recent years when we were getting married the joy to realise your Dad could marry us !! Our wedding day definitely was so special your Dad as our celebrant contributed so much in making our day so memorable.
Only recently I met him in Abbeyfeale. We chatted for ages. He spoke with pride about ye both and his grandchildren who he loved so much.
I am so lucky to have crossed paths so many times with your Dad. He was a true gentleman with the kindest heart and most brilliant sense of humour. Thinking of ye all with love and prayers during this very sad time.
