Deepest sympathy to all the McCarthy Family on the sad passing of their beloved Denis. What can I say about Denis the magical Bus Driver that drove us to Bandon Convent many moons ago. He was definitely the Most Obliging Bus Driver that I ever came across. Our late parents were always reminding us, that when we would move to the City we would never see his likes again. Denis would wait at the crossroads (Crois na Leanbh) for us , pretend to drive off just when we got near - always up for a bit of fun and a laugh. When he should be cranky with us for being late. He often picked us up at our house and all my sisters and brothers cannot say enough good things about the late Denis McCarthy. MAy his gentle soul Rest in Heavenly Peace.
Fond memories of Denis Seamus and Eoin winning Mid Cork Football Titles with Kilmichael . Cups being paraded at Dromcarra Platform. Happy Days

I am very sad to hear about Denis . What great memories I have of him travelling on school buses to so many great and happy events. He was a wonderful supporter and great fun to be with . He had opinions on so many things and we had great times chatting on the journey home . We did lots of history and geography tours and Denis knew every corner of the country . I am sure every child in the Bandon area had a day out with Denis .He will be greatly missed .Bandon won’t see the like of him again . May he Rest in peace.
