Condolences to you all at this sad time. I last saw uncle Derek at his sister Marion's birthday in Corby. Three things I remember most about Derek; he was a quiet spoken man. He passed his love of Rye bread onto me. And he taught me slow and sure will get you there.

We were very sorry to hear the sad news about Derek. May he rest in peace. He was a really excellent dental technician and always had the patient's best interests at heart. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Eileen and family on the loss of dear Derek, Andy and Derek grew up together and enjoyed many happy times. The Maher and Maguire families had great holiday’s together especially in Tramore.
Derek’s encyclopaedic knowledge was the backdrop to many a conversation and no subject was spared. Derek was a keen bird watcher whilst playing golf which was the source of great amusement to us all. Derek was good company and the memory of his company will be cherished by all those who had the privilege of his companionship.
We will miss our friend, Andy, Vera and family.

God bless, Uncle Derek. Although it is probably nearly 30 years since I last saw you at a family holiday in Skibbereen, I can clearly recall your warm and friendly smile. You always seemed to enjoy life and spending time with your family. I have happy memories of you and Auntie Eileen and so do my brothers, Chris, Lee, James and Adam, and my sister, Nuala. I know my Da, your older brother, James (Jim) adored you and I hope you are together now. My heart goes out to Auntie Eileen and your children, grand-children and great-grandchildren at this very sad time.
