My sincere condolences to you Elayne,Noleen,the kids and family.I was so shocked and sadden to hear of Derek's passing.He was a great friend for over 20 years.So kind and caring and always smiling.He never missing an oppourtunity to make you smile or laugh and was always up for the craic.I still can't believe he is gone.But what an amazing send off he got,so many people who truely love and respected him,it was heart warming to see .

May you rest in peace Dee.

My sincerest condolences to Elayne, the kids and Mono’s mother and siblings on his tragic loss. We will miss him so much, he DJed at both of our 30ths, Emma’s 21st and our eldest kid’s christening. When he couldn’t do our wedding as he was pre-booked, he was so apologetic and went off and found a replacement for us immediately. He would never let anyone down. He was great fun to be around, I’m still smiling remembering many of the times we had on our trip to Dubai. As everyone has said, he was Mr. Bohs and the place won’t be the same without him. An absolute gentleman and a pleasure to have known him. The world is a sadder place without him and I hope in time that the esteem he is held in by all of us will be some comfort to his family.

Sorry to hear of your loss Elayne I can’t imagine how you are all coping, it’s so unfair that this happened. RIP

Just back from Mono's farewell at the church. Wow, just wow, a sea of red and black, a presidential representative, a leader of a political party, footballers past and present from all over from many a team, and of course, our very own Johnny... All this just for an ordinary guy. Then again, Mono was no ordinary guy, that was just his charm. He was truly loved by all, and his family must be bursting with pride today amidst their heartache. It was pure craic working wiith such a positive student in Liberties College. A unique character full of fun and stories who was adored by every media student and us teachers alike. Such belly laughs in the radio studio!! A great night was had at Derek's 21st . Derek even invited my husband and it was so lovely to meet the family who meant so much to him .He talked about yas everyday. My heartfelt condolences to you all especially his mam whom he cherished . I wish I had of met his wife and childrenn. My own lads who are Pats fans..ahem.. .also knew of Derek cos of his fab presence at games. He loved bohs to the core and am so glad to see bohs loved him

His organisational skills, infectious positive outlook and, more importantly, great heart will live long in my memory. Always good to people, always kind, always there for you - that's Mono. His ability to mix with anybody was his greatest asset, his interviews with such as Jimmy White and John Aldridge (to name just two) were legendary - professional to his fingertips and all done without fuss, nervousness or self promotion. I will never forget Mono's unstinting support for me in working at Bohs in challenging times. Ever humble, ever softly spoken, ever jovial and always a gentleman.

Mono loved his family and Mono loved Bohs - and everyone at Bohs loved Mono. Long may his spirit and soul inspire all at Dalymount.

More than a volunteer, a barman, a DJ a fan ,He was one in a million, our 12th man. Dalymount will never be the same again.
