What a wonderful & cheerful man Dermot was. I always admired him growing up. His sense of humour & pure laughter was heartwarming & welcoming to be around. Dermot never changed. I loved meeting him when out and about. There was very few like Dermot. Christmas karaoke in the vest while enjoying one of his cans of Heineken was a treat. Great days & I thank all the Lyons family for them. I’m heartbroken for all of you. Dermot was a special man. Sadly I didn’t see as much of him when I left for the wee county, but the memories never dimmed. RIP Dermot, you’ll be missed but never forgotten.

Sincere condolences to Antoinette, Fiona, Derek, Niamh, Eoghan and John and all the family. I always remember Dermot to be good humoured and witty. He was well liked in the community and obviously very well loved by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I never met Dermot but for many years I have known how much he was loved by Niamh and Jimmy and then Grace . The love for Dermot was palpable and I know he will be sorely missed.
