My deepest sympathy to all of Desmond’s family and his friends and staff in Abbey Manor , I have great memories of Desmond while I worked in ballyraine day service and also in Abbey Manor , we had some great times and laughs together listening to all his cds especially Daniel O Donnell, how he loved heading to concerts with Gertie and Margaret and Pat staying in hotels, May Desmond rest in peace

Our deepest condolences to the family of Desmond at this very sad time. Fond memories of when a Special Scout Group was formed in Arklow and Desmond was a treasured member of that group. I had the great honour and privilege of being one of three leaders of that Group.

We have great memories of our happy times on the back row. Mam was so fond of Desmond, she always loved to have a chat with him. May Desmond's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Heartbroken to hear about Desmond’s passing. I feel so grateful to have had so many years working with him in Abbey Manor. I’ll never forget his singing, his pride in his CD collection, and the way he had a cup of coffee ready for me every morning without fail with his infectious laugh and that cheeky smile. There are so many memories from my time in Abbey Manor that I’ll always cherish.

Thinking of John and Breege, Margaret, and all the Ard Na Mara family, past and present, and sending you all so much love at this heartbreaking time.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Dessie potted up a lemon geranium for me about 17 years ago when I worked in Ballyraine and it is still growing and new shoots have been passed on to loads of my friends. I think of him every time I walk past it. Rest in peace Dessie.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Desmond's passing. I’ll always remember the great banter we shared, the times we played football, the many cups of tea, and the music playing from his coutless collection of CDs. Such special, simple moments that meant so much.
He always spoke so fondly about his family, with such pride and love. It was clear how much you all meant to him.
