Dessie rest in peace. I will never forget your kindness when I met you almost nine years ago when my late mother Alice was facing her final days in Ardkeen Hospital. Your company over those long nights made it almost bearable. Thank you and may you now rest in eternal peace.

My sincere and deep condolences on Dessie's. tragic passing. I was in school in Ballingeary school where Dessie used teach us The Hucklebuck. He was a wonderful , witty, and a genuine Soul. When I was in Ballymacarbry, Dessie called out to me on Sunday afternoons. He was ALWAYS full of his fun May his very gentle SOUL rest in Peace . He is reunited with his beloved parents . My thoughts and prayers are with his Partner and ALL his lovely neighbours and friends.

What a gorgeous photo of dearest Dessie.
He looks just as he would like us to remember him. We were great ol pals when I had my café in Clonmel, he was a regular indeed! Great fun, chat and humour always. He often kept order on the outside tables while he enjoyed his coffees and ciggies, always chatting to people and always a good word for all! He kept me on my toes for sure, and we would laugh together about him keeping an eye on the place when I would be on holiday or away for a few days. He would delight in trying to make me guilty and say the staff were up the walls when I was away. Please accept my deepest condolences on his tragic death. He was one of a kind—Dorothy from ÓTuama's Cafe, Market Place, Clonmel.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Dessie.He used to cut my hair when I was a child in " Guys And Dolls " Hairdressers Clonmel. When my daughter was born 25 years ago he gave me lots of Laura Ashley outfits for her that a friend had given him. He also was a great friend of my late mother when I was a child. RIP Dessie.
