I was sorry to hear of des's passing recently. He was a regular visitor in my place of work and brought a friendly and distinguished presence with him whenever he visited. I will personally miss him even though i only knew him in his latter years

Des always had a soft spot for our children, and was especially interested in connecting with our twin boys and comparing their experiences to his & Franks, twins of a different era. Sincere sympathy to Des, Noel, Chris and Rosemary,and the extended Doyle families on the sad passing of there dear father and uncle Des. Also to Peter, who Des and his late wife Mary generously shared there beautiful home in Tankardstown with.
I loved to visit Des and listen to him talk of his family and grandchildren and his time spent in Kingston. Such an interesting man, his knowledge of history both local and international was truly amazing. Such a kind man, delevered beautiful tomatoes and plums on a weekly basis to our house straight from his garden and then home made jam's in the Autumn.
May he rest in peace. He will be missed by all who knew him.
