I first met Marie and Don as a young teenager while working a summer job at the Anno Santo hotel on Threadneedle Road and loved serving them in the dining room as they were such kind people.
I have been lucky to spend time with Don and Marie over the last number of years and I will definitely miss the chats with Don.

He us gave great encouragement and solid advice when he was manager at Bank of Ireland Salthill, he provided me with my final year college loan in the late 1970’s & then doubled my overdraft to buy our engagement ring (long story) followed by a bridging loan as a young couple buying our first house in Tirellan Heights in the early 1980’s. We always recall his empathy, understanding & kindness towards us in our early life journey. May he rest in peace.
