Donal Carey was an inspirational public servant who was responsible for far reaching legislation that was beneficial not alone to Clare but the country as a whole. Donal and later his son Joe were most accommodating to all primary school teachers and their students from County Clare when they visited Dáil Eireann, truly a remarkable gesture on all fronts.
