My condolences to Fidelma and the family.

Deepest sympathy Fidelma on your great lost. Donnand I
Dear Fidelma and Family,
I'm so very sorry to hear about Donnchadh's death. As husband, father and grandfather his death leaves an enormous chasm in your lives.

As one of his many friends and colleagues, I am aware that there will a huge vacuum of a different kind in our lives too. Donnchadh was rightly admired for his amazing intellect but, more importantly, he was a great human being, full of wit and compassion.

I've known him for over 20 years through the Burren Law School and had the pleasure to chair his presentations on several occasions, most recently last May. He will be irreplaceable in that context, as he will be in so many others.

I’m currently in Spain and won’t, unfortunately, be able to attend the funeral but if there is a memorial service at a later stage I would hope to attend that.

Kind regards

Kieran
