Dr. Sam RONAN

I am so sorry to learn of Sam's untimely and sudden passing and I extend my sincere sympathy to Sam's immediate and extended families. I had the absolute privilege and pleasure of studying in UCD with Sam in the late 80s and I will never forget and will treasure the wonderful times and the very many laughs we shared. Sam was truly unique, an absolute one off and she was a great friend who will be very sadly missed. May Sam's gentle soul rest in peace x

I am out of the country and only heard today that Sam has died. I am shocked to hear the news. I have fond memories of Sam coming on placement to Cappamore Health Centre. She was beautiful in every sense. My deepest sympathy to her husband and family.

I have great memories of happier times drinking in Tom Collins pub in Limerick, full of laughter & late night dancing. It was with great sadness when Colm informed me of Sam's sad passing.

Sam was such a learned and beloved soul and I had the good fortune of having her in my life as a wonderful friend and fantastic neighbour. There was nothing Sam couldn't have a laugh about and her hearty laugh will forever echo in my ear.

It is many many years since I met with Sam in the HSE. There are only the few that I remember from those days but Sam couldn't be forgotten. Even the names of her precious children are etched in my failing memory.

She was honest enough to admit that doing a PhD was barely worth the time it robbed from her family.
