I join the hundreds of people that are heartbroken over Eddie’s sudden passing.

We did lots of truck photoshoots together in McElvaney Motors and have been on highways and byways across many counties. I will always treasure the giggles, the stories and the fusies we shared. He was such great company and a pleasure to sit with.

The world feels somehow quieter today without his voice, but I am incredibly lucky to have shared so many adventures and journeys with him - which are now precious memories.

My heartfelt condolences are with Dara (and Emer), Gráinne (and Barry), Macartan, Caolán, Sheenagh, Aoife, Aoibheann, Niall and Darren and his entire family at this incredibly sad time.

We were all in complete shock and heartbroken when we heard the sad news of Eddie’s passing, a long-standing and much-loved member of staff at McElvaney Motors.

For over 35 years, Eddie was more than a colleague — he was a friend to many, both within the company and to those who he encountered in the course of his job. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him and he readily stepped in, no matter the task. From new trucks to old, and everything in between, Eddie was a great pilot. His warmth and humour touched everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Eddie will never be forgotten in McElvaney Motors and his presence will be so sorely missed.

Sending heartfelt condolences to members of Eddie’s family who work with us, his son, Dara, his brother, Macartan and his grandson, Caolán. As well as to his daughter Grainne, his grandchildren and his family.
