Finbar (Barry) McSweeney

Very sorry to hear of Finbar’s passing. He was my first boss and I couldn’t have had a better start to my career, a true gentleman and a brilliant though modest engineer.

I was very sorry to hear of the death of Finbar. I knew him in DIT Bolton St. as a great engineer who gave freely of his knowledge to his students. I had many a pleasant lunch with him in Romano's. He was a gentleman. May he rest in peace.

We were very sorry to hear of Barry's death.

I was lucky to have had the opportunity to work in the same office as Finbar. He was a super engineer who worked on my favourite modern building in Dublin and that is the Central Bank on Dame Street. We will be looking at Finbars work for a long time to come.

We are very sorry to hear of Barry,s death, may he rest in peace. We have known Barry in work, as neighbour and a friend with a common interest in sport for over 55 years. He will be missed.
