Saddened to hear that Fintan has passed away and heartfelt condolences to Siobhán, Oliver and the extended Russell family. On mornings when I was playing music to set up the AV equipment in the Courthouse he would drop into me on his way back from the shop. I always enjoyed these sprawling conversations and often wished I could have met him in the earlier years. Fintan was a very interesting man, one of nature's gentlemen, and he will be very much missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of his wonderful company. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a h-Anan dílis.

I'm so sad to hear of Fintans passing. Fintan stayed in our B&B while he was captain at the European Golf Club and became a great family friend over the years. He was very talented musically and a proud Kerryman especially during All Ireland finals. He always liked to stay in a particular room which he christened the "Captains room" which later became officially known as "The Russell Suite" in his honour.

He was very proud of his family and I extended my deepest sympathies to you all, Fintan was an true gentleman, may he Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear of Fintan’s passing. Even sorrier that we lost touch over the years. What a special man , thoughtful, talented, fun loving and smart. Thinking of Bernie too at this sad time. Beautiful couple with whom we enjoyed so many good times together when we lived in Gentian Hill. Fintan dropped his puppy dog Patch to us one time when he had to go away and our kids loved him.
