Fr. Bill Greene

We have the happiest memories of Fr. Bill saying Mass regularly in St Michaels Church, Blackrock, Cork in 2018/19 when the Kiltegan Fathers were helping in the parish. He developed a great rapport with the week day congregation and got to know many of us. He prayed for our intentions including employment for a family member, which was obtained. His long life as a missionary was crowned by his service here at home in later years. May he enjoy his eternal reward.

Sincere condolences to the Greene family on the sad passing of Fr.Billy. I met Fr Billy when I did voluntary work in Nigeria with the Late Fr Con Cronin and we remained firm friends. I'll always remember his kindness and words of encouragement,he was a true missionary🙏 My visits and phone calls always ended with a prayer. Fr Billy is gone to his new home in heaven where he no longer has to suffer. Missing you,Rest in peace my Dear Friend ..

I knew Bill when he was a pupil in the Abbey CBS many years ago. He was one of a group of fine young people who made my short stay as a teacher in Tipperary a very pleasant one.

We, in Ballyjamesduff, always felt we were in the presence of a saint when Fr. Bill came to visit his cousins. Our lives were greatly enhanced for the time he spent with us. He had the biggest smile and heartiest laugh of anyone I know.
Fr. Bill had a genuine interest in people and his phenomenal memory meant that he remembered even the smallest detail about a person.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Rest in eternal peace Fr. Bill.
