In 1971 he was at our wedding I had known him for some time as I worked in Limerick in the late 6os and had a flat in a house he used to visit.

Deepest condolences to Mary, Sr. Mona, the Cleary Family on the passing of Fr. Brenda Cleary.

He was much loved, admired and cherished by our Parish...always a kind word, gave beautiful heartfelt homilies, magnificent masses and knew the perfect thing to say at a wedding or funeral...always making everyone feel welcome and comforted. He remembered those before us at his lovely August 15th masses in Doonass and even though I left for Canada almost 30 years ago, he would always remember me when I visited home and ask 'how are they all in Canada Geraldine'. He wrote me a lovely letter when I got married when sending on the much needed paperwork. In these changing times, he was a rock, and made us all love our faith and each other by witnessing his service. May he rest now and be granted his eternal reward in Heaven. As someone else put it perfectly, he was a Legend.
