On behalf of us at St.Michael's Parish I would like to offer sympathy to the family, Oblate Community and friends of Des.
Des was a great supporter of us here. He was a voice with and for laity. And a voice with and for women in the church. When we began having a lay leader of the 3pm Good Friday Liturgy back in 2010, Des came for a number of years to support us by his presence and encouagement. We are grateful for that. And others who attended his reflections speak of how well Des linked spirituality and scripture with everyday life..He had a great ability to distill meaning within the ordinary. We are also glad that our last parish priest Louis, who died on Oct.2022 had the companionship of Des over the last months of his life. Indeed Louis had often said of Des that he was a man before his time. Thank you Des for your wisdom and support. May you be at peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Fr Des O'Donnell. He was a wise and prudent counsellor and a good friend to many. He wrote some inspiring books too and was always so well informed. To his family and to his Oblate community I offer my sincere condolences. Fr Des and all of you will be in my prayers and thoughts this Advent season. May Fr Des rest in peace.
Very sorry to learn of the death of Fr Des. He was a great friend to my father down through the years. His spiritualality was full of positive messages and life affirming. He was a joy to meet. I hope he meets all his pals in the great beyond.

It was with great sadness, but with much gratitude, that I learned of the passing of Fr Des on Friday evening. My prayerful sympathy goes to all his extended family and all his Oblate confreres. I have had the benefit of his wise guidance and direction for many years. May he rest in the Peace of the Lord that he so faithfully served during his long life and ministry.
