We send our deepest condolences to the Family of Father Flor. We met him in Warwick, New York and he became a dear friend of our family. His warmth and learning was a gift to all of us. We are so thankful for his presence in our lives. We kept in touch by mail when he returned to Ireland, and treasure all of his communications. And we are so thankful to have been able to visit him in Dublin. He will never be forgotten. A true man of God, and a dear, dear friend. Rest In Peace,dear Father. The Richard Kiley family.
Fr.. FLor will be remembered with fondness for his stories, his kindness and his deep faith.

Rest In Peace Father Flor. You gave my father Daniel Buckley of Lounaghan, last rights and said his funeral Mass in Greenwood Lake NY in July 2002. How comforted my family was to have a native of Kilgarvan with us during our sadness. Condolences to the McCarthy family.
Sincere sympathy to Fr Flor’s family. I attended a service in St Mochtas Church a few years ago..straight away I knew he was a Kerryman and he even mentioned the Gooch in his sermon! We spoke to him on the way out and introduced my Dublin born Kerry loving 8 yr old to him. RIP

Sincere condolences to the family of Fr. Flor McCarthy and the Salesian community on the passing of Fr. Flor. I lived in Crumlin on the same road as Flor's community and we both taught in the Vocational School, Clogher Road, in Crumlin. I have very pleasant memories of my time working with him in the school, especially of the times when the teachers took on the students after school at football. Fr. Flor was a gentleman and a credit to his family, his community and to Kerry. God bless you Flor, may you Rest in Peace.

47 years ago fr mc carthy thought me in clogher road teck as it was called then .never have i met such a nice decient man with such charm and wisdom ,we met when he was out walking regularly. he rememberd everything for far back and was up to date with news papers etc .loved his little blue citroen .we in crumlin will miss him .may he rest in peace amen

Fr. Flor was wonderful to me and my family. He used to visit us every summer in New York. He taught me how to swim, he baptized family members and officiated weddings, too. So many wonderful memories. He had a passion for story-telling. We all loved him dearly. R.I.P. dear Fr. Flor.

I am thankful for the wonderful memories of Father McCarthy. Many summers he attended our family reunions in Warwick NY. He was a legend in our soccer games, we all wanted to be on his team. He was a kind and loving Man, on the soccer field he played to win. Much laughter as the Priest took out players , no matter their age or gender. We loved him. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I had the great honour and pleasure of knowing Flor as he also taught me in Clogher Road Vocational College Crumlin many years ago. He was a wonderful teacher and was always so kind to all the students. He was excellent at telling a story and even better at giving homilies we have lost a great Kerry man and an outstanding Priest. Flor you have earned your place in heaven.

Like many of my fellow priests, Fr Flor's Homily Books have had a special place in my little library for many a long year. There was never a problem getting several good ideas with matching stories to go with the readings of the day in Flor's writings.
