Our deepest sympathy to Fr. McAteer's family and friends. We were members of St. Theresa parish in Spring Hill just before he retired. He came to visit Gary when he was ill and we were forever grateful. He was a good and holy man. We are thankful that our paths crossed.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Fr. James McAteer in Dublin. He married my wife and me in Galesburg, IL in 1987, and years later we were blessed to reconnect with him at St. Theresa Parish in Spring Hill, FL. A kind and faithful servant—may he rest in peace.

Father McAteer was an excellent priest- I'm so grateful for the many sacraments he blessed me with as a child- he is someone I will never forget! He served many years at Corpus Christi and was a dear friend to our family! Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord! Thank you for sharing Father Mac with us- I'm glad he made it home to be near his family!

Our hearts are broken, Father McAteer was a dear friend of our family. We had many dinners together and always enjoyed his visits to Galesburg. We kept in touch by Phone when he moved back to Ireland. He was a great priest and a wonderful friend and we will miss him greatly. So sorry to hear Fr. McAteer has passed away. Met him first in 1995 when he was in St. Theresa's in Springhill Fl. when our late aunt Mary lived there. He always treated myself and my two sisters so well. Remember he took us all for lunch one day to St. Petersburg and we all had the best time. Condolences to all his family may Fr.
