He was a wonderful conversationalist and was so interesting & gregarious. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace after a lifetime of service to the missions.

Sincere condolences to the SMA Community and all of Fr Michael's relatives. I have lovely memories of Fr Michael when he was based in Wilton in the early 1970's. He used to visit our home on a weekly basis
and regale us with his stories from the missions. He had a particular affinity with my parent's as the three of them had been reared in a rural setting and they would spend the evenings exchanging stories from their childhood. My mother used to write to Fr Igoe on a regular basis when he returned to Zambia. He maintained his friendship with my parents and officiated at their funerals. We were fortunate to have had the pleasure of his conviviality, wisdom and good humour. He is someone that left an indelible mark both on my siblings and myself. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
