Sincere sympathy to May and the girls plus the extended Noonan family on the sad loss of Gay. I remember Gay as a very loyal member of the Legion of Mary in Kilkenny back in the early 1970s . The meetings were held weekly in the old CYMS Hall in William St. May you rest in eternal peace Gay.

I had the pleasure of spending time with Gay on our journeys from Dublin and back up again to the north side for the village hurling matches and training. No need for the radio and the conversation went over and back.

From the first time I met Gay, in John Gunn’s carpet shop, almost 35 years ago, he was always so sound, and keen for a chat whenever we’d meet. “How’s Mam and Dad?”, he’d ask, and he’d be genuinely enquiring.
