Dear Ev, Joc and all the Balfe family,

So sorry to hear of your lovely Dad’s passing. He was truly a gentleman in every sense of the word. I’ll always remember that wonderful twinkle in his eyes and how quick he was with a smile or a joke!

Every time I made the trip home from Australia over the last few years and had the chance to see him in Dublin, it was such a pleasure. He had this way of making you feel genuinely welcomed and valued.

It’s clear where you both and your siblings got your warmth and kindness - your Dad raised truly wonderful children, who he loved very much. He will be sadly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Rest in peace with your lovely wife George xx
