I have so many fond memories of George. It was always great to see him when I was home and he popped round.

My sincere condolences to you Charlotte, Gina, Źoe, Fiona, Brian and Mathew on the death of the beloved George. It was so good to meet and chat with George a few weeks ago and still find him so conversant despite the difficult situation he was in. George was still trying to convince me that we met on the No. 51 bus all those years ago in Dublin when I drove for Dublin Bus. I had clearly forgotten this but George hadn't. George and Gina made me feel so welcome in their home on my last visit, at a very hard time in their lives. Even though George was not well, we shared a lovely afternoon together. George was witty and as knowledgeable as ever and even gifted me a signed copy of his book of poetry which I shall always cherish. George bore his illness with great dignity and courage and will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to know him.

I was saddened to learn the sad news of the passing of George RIP. I will ever remember him as a man who lived life to the full and was the living embodiment of craic. We had great fun, back the years, playing golf and, particularly, at a fantastic charity event at the Towers in Ballybunion.

Mo chomhbhrón ó chroí leat Gina agus ar do chlann ar fad ar imeacht George ar shlí na fírinne. Even though I only got to know George in recent years as he competed in the Masters Athletics competitions in Tullamore, together with my late Dad, I have many fond memories of him. Dad and I would be doubled over with his hilarious tales and sharp wit. He had a remarkable gift for connecting with people and brought so much joy and fun to this world.
