Just heartbroken at the death of Gerry. He was such a lovely gentleman and always had a smile on his face and a wee joke to share whenever we met. I’ll miss our wee cracks outside SuperValu. I have such fond memories of Gerry from a very young age with his connection to the Lynch family and tuning our piano in Rathfeigh many years ago. Very saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. We got to know Gerry while playing music in Castleblayney over the years. Gerry was such a warm and gentle character and it was always lovely to have a chat with him after the gig, which no doubt included a few jokes. He had such an array of yarns and jokes and his laughter was infectious. Sincere sympathies to Mary and the extended Black family as we send thoughts of Peace, Love and Harmony to Michael, Julieanne and Ben at this very sad and difficult time.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Gerry. He was one of Blayney's adopted musical sons since back in the day when he played in the Embassy with the popular Hilton Showband. Marrying local Blayney girl Mary O'Neill, Gerry made Blayney his home and many locally based bands had the benefit of his talent since those early 60s days especially fronting The Seasons.
