Gilda Hussey

Gilda was a gentle sole and great artist. She was my sisters best childhood friend and like a member of are family. Her memory will always be with me. It was lovely to Dave and Jake together with other family members and family. Lovely service.

We met at 18 in art school, a unique character, all the qualities you want in a friend, Gilda had it in spades.
A fabulous artist too. I was only reading her letters last week and smiling and thinking I should send them to her, she would have laughed.

Jake, you were blessed with the most wonderful Mother.

Gilda, the light of heaven to you my friend.

I only met Gilda the once but it was obvious how much she was loved and admired by Dave, Jake and many of her wider family back home in Ireland. Taken far too soon and fought a courageous battle to the end, may she Rest In Peace. A special mention to Dave who devoted his life to her in recent years and was immensely selfless and supportive until the very end.

They say friends are the ones who walk with you through life.
In this case it is not true .

Gilda always said in order to be a good friend you must have “grit”
with them, that we had in spades.

Gilda was a legend. Gifted artist, passionate and devoted mother,
loyal and loving partner, and a true friend to me.

Her journey was not a easy one, but she did it with a smile, grace and dignity each day.

Jake she will forever be in your heart with you.
Dave she is your heart.
Extended family and friends lets reflect and give thanks that we knew such a
wonderful character who broke the mould.

Gilda was one of the first to send a gift in the post when our Gorgeous Grace was born. She was thoughtful and fun. I will always remember her cuddling Ciara in the Castleknock hotel and the great day we had out with her as a family. We would've had many more visits only she was taken too soon. So sorry for your loss Dave and Jake xx
