To all the Byrne family, I am very sad to hear of the death of the wonderful Hilda. I spent many happy hours with her on various committee boats down through the years and it always brightened my day, when I knew that Hilda would be onboard. A lovely lady who will be sorely missed. My sincerest condolences to all the Byrne family. May she rest in peace.
We were both very saddened to learn of Hilda's death, she was a wonderful lady and we had the pleasure of staying with her in her house some years back during a world championship we were assisting in. Please accept our deepest and sincerest condolences. " The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living" M.T. Cicero. We shall always remember her for her generosity, kindness and good humour.

I have lovely memories of walking The Camino Frances with Hilda in Jacqueline’s group.
She was great company; full of life and energy.
I remember her joy at our arrival in Santiago de Compostela and receiving the final certificate at the Pilgrim’s office.

My sincere sympathy to all of Hilda's family. In our time together in MRCS Hilda was my supervisor for many years. I learnt so much from her. On a personal level she was a huge support and I appreciated her kindness to me. The funeral service was a lovely tribute to her and I'm sure she would have loved the beautiful music. Hilda was a true lady and she is sadly missed.

She was an amazing sailing volunteer and assisted greatly with dozens of National Yacht Club events.
I remember at one stage she hosted participants from Argentina pitching their tent in her front garden.
A lovely lady with lots of stories of growing up on Foster Ave.

It seems like yesterday that Hilda was in our house to celebrate the millennium.
She was great fun and certainly helped her progeny in their love of sailing.

My sincere sympathy to all Hilda’s family on her peaceful passing away. I met Hilda 8 years ago in Old Ladies Manor where she and my sister Dana became a great friends. All the staff were saying they were all the time together. My sister is still there and in the last months they were sharing the same table at lunches and dinners. I was very fond of Hilda and so sorry to hear about her death. May she now rest in peace.
