Tommy and family, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your dear Mum.

Downpatrick Road in the 70’s and 80’s was full of energetic kids and strong women, they needed to be strong to keep us in line, they were also kind, wise and generally good humoured…
First amongst them was Hilda, she saw everything and knew everyone, they simply don’t make them like Hilda anymore. She was my mother’s friend and confidant, always there when needed.
She was the last of her kind, the last piece of our childhood from our cul-de-sac on Downpatrick..

So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Mam and Nanny. Noreen and Naomi, I only met her once, but she made such an impression — full of warmth and character.
