Alec was a much loved figure in Halverstown Cricket Club: opening bat, former captain and President and, unforgettably, the man who built our clubhouse- in a single day. It doesn't seem so long ago that he retired so reading that he was 92 was quite a surprise. He kept in touch after retiring from playing, attending BBQs and some games. He was a gentle man and a gentleman. We will always think of him very fondly as one of the great old Halverstonians. So sorry that Jeanette and I could not attend his funeral to pay our last respects to such a lovely man. Ar dheis De raibh a anam.
