Alfie was a wonderful man who opened his heart to all who went to work in Boston or visiting on a holiday, he opened up his home to so many of us and welcomed us in, taking great care of us and always taking the time to look after us all.

He gave the best hugs and was so generous to all none more so than myself over the many years both at home in Greenville and in Boston. His love for Joan and his darling Norah, his amazing Tony and beautiful Charlie was there for all to see.

Sleep in peace now Alfie and hug your beautiful boy Charlie as he is now waiting to welcome you into the Kingdom of Heaven arms stretched out wide saying - Welcome, welcome Dad I have been waiting for you.

I worked for Alfie for almost 40 years, seven days a week, and somewhere along the way he became far more than my boss he became a genuine friend and part of my family. We shared a lifetime of days together, and I can’t imagine Boston without him. He will be terribly missed, and the city truly won’t be the same without Alfie. RIP
