We met Jim briefly a few times through Brendan.
He was adored by Bren who spoke highly of him at every opportunity - by all accounts Jim was a wonderful brother and Dad. Rest in Peace
Such a lovely neighbour and friend, kind and thoughtful. We are missing seeing Jim pottering around, but glad he has been laid to rest in Ireland close to family. He clearly had a close relationship with the grandchildren and was proud of you all.
Edward & Caitriona our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved father. His presence will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, family and friends.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Jim you will be truly missed by all. What an honour it was to be your friend. The laughs we shared together. Talk of travel and your great recommendations. Updates on our families. Your fabulous 80th birthday celebration together at the Waterside Inn. Surprise 75th birthday and retirement parties. The list is endless. Thanks for opening my world of experiences.
Rest in peace Jim.
Love Julie, Lawrence, Jack, Kyle, Lily, Chantal, Sam and Aria. X
Jim's is not truly dead for he left such a wealth of great memories behind. Only when someone is forgotten can they be described as having ceased to exist. Jim and Mary came into the lives of my wife and I in the '70s - exploded into our lives along with Catriona and Edward and other members of the Cardiff and O'Sullivan clans. Those were great memories that are enduring as I can know memories of Jim will live on with the new generation of Cardiffs - Elliot and Orhelia. If I started to recount particular fun-filled incidents of times together I would never stop. Even in recent months, when illness on both sides prevented our meetings, Jim and I were always exchanging length emails about the world, the universe and everything. It was an privilege and an honour to have called him a friend.
I grew up with Jimmy, Brendan & Maureen. Sad to see them go. Unfortunately, will be in Hospital on 20th Dec. & so cannot attend the funeral, just like I missed the others, being abroad.
My deepest sympathy to his family & friends.
