Gentleman Jim as we knew him was a dedicated member of our club for many years and Honorary life vice President for the last number of years and we mourne his passing.

Very sorry for your loss

Back in the ‘70s, when some of us were naive and silly, Jimmy and Nora were hugely supportive of a bunch of Mitchelstown girls in London.
“I’ve never heard a bad word said about Jimmy” my son says. When said son was born, I was ‘feeling the blues’ but Jimmy had the right words to say - even if some of those words were not for sensitive ears!
As far away as Australia, I was told how he had given similar words of comfort at the death of a neighbour’s father, helping to ease the loss with humour and empathy.

I hope that his own family may now take comfort from how fondly Jimmy is remembered by so many people.
