I had the privilege of working with Jim years ago on the LCA programme. He was such a creative and committed educator and his enthusiasm never waned. He was generous and very kind to me. My sympathy to Jim’s family.

I got to know Jim years ago through working on the Leaving Cert Applied. He was a lovely man and so creative and committed to education - he never lost enthusiasm and was generous in sharing his ideas. He was very kind to me which I will never forget. My condolences to Jim’s family.

I'm really sorry to hear about death of Jim Marsden. He was vice principal when I was in the Community College in the 90s. A really sound fella, I was very fond of him. He always had a bit of a twinkle in his eye when he was giving out to us over some minor misdemeanor (in my case, skipping the queue for the tuck shop or sneaking my walkman into school!) I remember him telling me to run around the school on one of those occasions as 'punishment' and when he caught me coming straight back in the door around the corner he was laughing and so was I. May he rest in peace.

Jim was a lovely man, he was a kind caring teacher and vice principal and an all round gentle man and a gentleman.
I loved to see him coming into the Supervalu Lobby on Fridays when Anne T and myself were doing Dunshaughlin News and Views, he always had some lovely words for us and a few stories too. May his gentle soul fly high with the angels.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Jim. I met Jim a number of times in his capacity as a Maths teacher and in particular with his Project Maths venture. Jim had such a passion for maths and as a maths teacher myself , he really inspired me. He was a great friend to my Dad, Dan Toole, who respected him as an outstanding administrator and deputy principal. We have lost one of the greats. Rest in peace Jim. Caroline x x
