Hi Philip, Sonia, and family,

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, but I often think back to those childhood visits to your home in Walkinstown. Joan was always the heart and soul of that house, and I can still vividly remember the smell of her wonderful roast dinners.

I was so saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. My own mum, Margaret, shared the news, and it brought back so many memories of those days when we were kids—and also of the last time I spoke with Joan about a year ago.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I’m truly sorry I couldn’t be there for the funeral, but know that Joan will always be fondly remembered and deeply loved.
