I was so saddened to hear of Joan’s passing. I extend my and my family’s heartfelt condolences to all of the McLaughlin and Cummins families. Joan will be deeply missed. To me, Joan was one of my older, wiser cousins from the homeland who embodied astonishing beauty (inside and out), intelligence, and grace. Joan was so warm and welcoming, from my first trip to Ireland as a girl attending her wedding to Dr. Denis, to my last visit with her in the summer of 2017 when our son was working in Newry. I will treasure the memories I have of her forever. Without a doubt, I am lucky that I got to know her. I am certain that Joan passed quickly into heaven and took her place among the stars.

Joan has been part of the Healy Family for many years, since first working for our Dad Seán Healy (I.F.A.). Joan kept 'the men' organised and was so respected by all. I have the honour and privilege of being her Godchild.
Every Summer, I would spend time with the Cummin's Family and adored my time with all Joan's family.

Joan was a gentle, empathic and extremely intelligent lady and loved by all. When she met and married Denis, everyone was thrilled for her, as she had found her soulmate. Always in the background, yet organised all around her.

She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. I will miss our chats and her advice. She has 'come home' to her loved ones and will look over and after us all from her well-deserved seat. Love you Joan and thank you for being on our lives.
