So sad to see Nana go but at the same time so blessed to have had grandmother as warm and kind as her. She always put a smile on my face from the moment she said hello. What a woman, she was still walking the roads when she was well into her 80's, fit as a fiddle and so independent.

Many a time Joan and myself would be at Theresa and Billy's house and we'd sit at the table and share a meal, what great company she was, very witty and sharp as a tack.

She'd constantly give out to me for calling her Mrs O' Connor saying "for God's sake will you call me Joan", it used to make me smile as I could never get used to calling her Joan.
Such fond memories.
