To Bill, Elaine, Kathy, Neil and extended family, we were so saddened to hear of Joan's passing. She was a great neighbour and friend to Nora and Sean and she was the coolest mum we knew growing up. One of my most vivid memories was watching the Paul Simon concert for Nelson Mandela's freedom in 1987 when a lot of us barely knew who he was. Joan as hip as ever was completely invested. She was genuinely interested in people and was always quick with a witty comment and ready with her great laugh. She really was inspirational in coping with her illness and being able to stay at home and still enjoy life are a testament to how much she was loved by her family. She will be missed. May she rest in peace, xx
