To John's wife, daughters and grandchildren, I am so sorry to hear of his death. He was a warm, kind, encouraging person with a genuine interest in others. My sincere sympathies to all of John's family and friends on his passing. I was his running comrade in Civil Service Harriers in the 1990's for a 15 year period. We all very much respected John's calm and friendliness in supporting the clubs competitive undertakings.

Condolences to John’s family and friends. John loved Civil Services Harriers AC and the club loved him. He will always be synonymous with running and with the Phoenix Park. For many of us new to running, he was that friendly, welcoming figure who encouraged us to come back time and again. He never forgot a name and he helped foster a life-long love of running in so many people. He will always be with us

We were very sad to hear of the passing of John. We met him during our time in the Civil Service Harriers running club and he was a true gentleman.
