Sincere sympathy to Ruth and Family..First met John in the late 70's at Midleton College when
Ardscoil Ris took their first steps in schools Rugby.John was most helpful and accomodating.
He served Munster Schools as Chairman of Selectors at both A and Full Schools. Met him many times subsequently in Thomond Park.A gentleman personified. Fondly rememered.R.I.P.

"Mr. Levis" has left me with enduring memories and anecdotes. He seemed to share our love of "red herrings" when opportunity permitted. Nonetheless, his teaching helped me to the career I wanted. He set a great example for impressionable teenagers and I will remember him fondly.

I only heard of John's passing a few days ago. I first met the Levis family when we first moved to Hettyfield when I was 4. They lived directly behind us, so jumping over the boundary ditch to play with Trevor (still missed) was a daily ocurrence. Was always aware of John, Avril and Brian as the older siblings. It was when I started working and dealing with schools that I would regularly meet John in Midleton College and always with a welcoming smile. A thorough gentleman. The world is a poorer place without him.
