We were so very sorry to hear of John’s untimely passing. Jonny was a childhood neighbour of John's on Martello Court and in later years we both worked with him in AIB Credit Cards. We will always have many good memories of working with John, or more so of the after work Friday pints with him in Kiely's! May he rest in peace.
I have only heard of John's passing today. To say that I am shocked and saddened to hear this would be an understatement. Blindsided on an idle Tuesday is the expression.

I knew John from working together in AIB. Although I worked with him for only a short period he made an impression on me. A massive Man Utd fan like myself we shared many the same views over lunch or via whatsapp. He was a gentleman and great if you ever had any queries. John may you rest in peace my friend. GGMU - UTFR
Sad to hear of Johns passing … when I started in mortgages many years ago John was always on the other side of the phone in mlu and helped us keep the show on the road . A lovely patient guy .. may he rest in peace
To Connor & Family, so sorry for your loss. RIP John Paul
I was very sorry to hear of John Paul's death. My deepest sympathy to his Mam and Dad, sister Amy, his wider family and friends. I have good and happy memories of John Paul in St. Helen's junior school.
Sincere condolences to all of John’s family and friends.

I worked with John for many years in AIB. He was incredibly kind and supportive to myself and all other colleagues. So sad to hear of his passing.

May he rest in peace.
Pat & Conor, sincere condolences on the passing of your wonderful son John Paul. It's obvious from the messages above that your love and family values ran through his veins. I'm so sad for your loss and that he has gone from you too soon. Take care.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
So very sorry to hear of this news.

Had the pleasure of working closely with him for a number of years in AIB. He became the face / voice of our unit through his interactions with the wider bank on a daily basis and was so well regarded by everyone he engaged with. He always showed huge empathy and sensitivity to customers and colleagues which came very naturally to him.
As a person, Exceptionally witty, funny man and a good friend. Never a dull day sitting beside him, probably far too much laughing in an office environment! Always greeting you with a huge smile every morning and asking how you were (and meaning it). He was always passionate about his family and outside interests of course.

Rest easy.
My deepest condolences to John's family. I am heartbroken to have lost my childhood friend...a friendship which had continued into our adult lives.
John Paul's wit, jokes, banter and most of all his caring, loving and thoughtful nature will be missed greatly. We kept in touch regularly and I will truly miss my dear friend, but he has left behind so many wonderful memories and I was lucky to have had him in my life. Rest in Peace my dear friend xx
Sincerest condolences to John’s parents and family.
I was so sorry to learn of John’s passing.
We shared many a moment during our time with AIB. A great source of knowledge and a warm, friendly colleague.
I will miss our telephone conversations!
May you rest in peace🙏
I am heartbroken to hear John has left this world. He was such a kind and gentle soul and I thought the world of him. He was a wonderful colleague in AIB and he will be sadly missed. RiP my friend.
Very sad to hear of John’s passing, he was a great character, with a very sharp wit, always made me laugh when we met, he will be missed, rest in peace buddy.
To Pat, Conor and Amy. Sincere condolences on John Paul’s death. I have very fond memories of his time in St Helens. He enhanced school life by his presence and example to others. He was a lovely boy who to judge by the tributes paid to him , became an equally lovely man. Rest in well deserved peace John Paul.
Each work day, John, Stef and I would take the Dart from Sutton Station to Landsdowne Road. We sat next to each other everyday and were inseparable on those trips. I feel we probably annoyed other passengers with our roars of laughter, or more likely, made them jealous that they were not part of a tight knit travel entourage. We did not know each other outside of those commutes. We each led our own lives. But, getting on that train on a Monday morning was something I remember looking forward to, all because of the wonderful company of Stef and John! John, you were a great friend and you will be missed.
I am truly shocked when I heard the news via a call from John’s Dad,
I knew John from working on his house repairing his heating and plumbing issues he was so genuine, funny and absolute gentleman I know he was a massive Man U fan!
May Elohim bless him and his grieving family at this dreadful time.
John was a shining light in this world that will never be diminished.
May his memory be a blessing.
RIP John

We will miss you so much, JP. A kind, generous, sarky, sometimes cranky but an ever-present, one-of-a-kind friend. Totally irreplaceable. We were so lucky to have you in our lives - it won't be the same without you. May the force be with you.

Love to Pat, Conor, Amy, Phil, Maggie, Louise, extended family, and all who knew and loved John Paul xx
Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. Missing you already. RIP

Conor, Pat and Amy. So shocked and saddened to hear of John Paul’s passing. Deepest condolences on your loss.
I’m deeply saddened to hear about the passing of John,
During my time at fowlers pub malahide, John was a familiar kind customer who you would always love to see, always so kind & generous with his words and time. I’ll always remember if there was any time we were raising money for charity he was the first to support, a very intelligent, humble man and the warmth he brought into every interaction was always felt.
I feel grateful to have crossed paths with someone so genuinely good. I haven’t scene John in 10 years and it just shows the impact he had.
Sending my thoughts and condolences to his loved ones and family no surprise reading the lovely messages how loved John is. May John rest in peace and his love live on.
So shocked to hear of JP's passing this morning. I've loads of memories of him and his sister Amy coming to stay at our neighbours', Fra and Tone's house when we were kids. The way I was thinking of describing him was sharp witted and acid-tongued, so I smiled when I read the description of him above, I'm glad to hear he never lost that. Goodbye JP, thank you for the sarcastic commentary while I tried to load games on Tony's computer and the afternoon we tried to train the untrainable dog Buddy.
Dear Conor, Pat, Amy and extended family. So sorry to hear of your beloved John's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May he rest in peace.

Our sincere sympathy to Pat, Conor, Amy and McCarthy families, we are very sad to hear of the premature death of John Paul. May he rest in peace 🙏.
My sincere condolences and those of my family go out to John's family and friends following his untimely passing.

Meeting John through going to Ireland matches some years ago, his sense of humour, approachable nature and quick wit saw us quickly become great friends. From watching the game to waiting on the Dart and analysing each players efforts post match it made match days a pleasure regardless of result.
He put pundits to shame with a dash of razor sharp wit and humour.

He will be sorely missed by many for his advice, the laughs, thoughtfulness and the odd Star Wars or Fast and Furious reference thrown in for good measure.

Rest easy buddy.
Rest in peace Bro. You will never be forgotten. Legend of a man. Kindness, generosity, humour, are just some of the words that come to mind to describe you. We had a lot of laughs together over the years. Until we meet again my friend x
Sincere condolences to the Cunneen family on the untimely passing of John. Your tribute to John has summed him up perfectly and he would be proud. I worked with John in the MLU and he always spoke highly of his family, he loved to sometimes talk football (depending on Uniteds results) and was definitely witty. Rest easy John.
Very saddened to hear of Johns passing. My sincerest condolences to his parents, sister and two nieces that he spoke of so often and always with such pride and love. - The Dark Knight

I actually couldn’t believe the news when I heard it this morning. I was only talking to him for a good long chat 2 weeks ago and sending each other the May the 4th be with you memes last week. I’m absolutely heartbroken. John was a work colleague of mine but he became such a close friend to me. I will miss him terribly. He got me through some dark days.

To John’s family. I am so sorry for the loss of one of the soundest individuals I have ever met. There won’t be a day that will go by that I won’t think of him.

May John’s gentle soul rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to Johns family and all who knew him. We have lost one of the best. I knew John throughout my time in AIB and our friendship continued after. I will miss his funny messages. He always remembered my girls birthdays. He was a gent from the first day I spoke to him. Fly high buddy 💚
Our sincere condolences to all John’s family and friends.

We first knew John as the guy who sat beside us at Ireland football games. After more than 10 years of sitting side by side in the Aviva stadium, we became great friends.

His quick-wit humour and kindness touched all of our hearts. We will remember him for all the laughs that we shared at the games but also for his generosity, as he always had a packet of maltesers for Abi.

Ireland matches will not be the same for us. We will miss him dearly.
Pat, Conor and Amy, so sorry to learn of John Paul's sudden and untimely passing. Please accept our deepest sympathy. May John Pauls gentle soul rest in peace.
Very fond memories of John Paul. He was the first friend I made as a child. Spent many hours playing and arguing over subbuteo. I remember him as an intelligent, witty, passionate and decent person. A great loss to those who knew him. Very sad time. Condolences Amy, Pat and Conor.
I’m so sorry to hear of John’s sad passing. I was in secondary school with him. He was always so friendly and kind with some humour and sarcasm thrown in!!! Such a lovely person. Thinking of his family and friends.
I am very much saddened to hear of the death of John.

He and I worked together in AIB Credit Cards and kept in touch via Facebook over the years, with a sarcastic comment back and forth every so often. He persisted with Facebook when so many others gave it up.

John certainly made the office environment brighter, especially during GOAL jersey day when he could be relied upon to wear a spangly jacket from an American sports team that nobody knew, and a Cork City jersey beneath it. Good times.

Rest in Peace John.
Sincere condolences to Conor, Pat and to the extended Cunneen family at this sad time.
May John Paul Rest in Peace.
So sorry for your family's incredibly sad loss.

I hope there is some small comfort in all the tributes to his kindness and humour from friends, colleagues, and acquaintances alike.

May John Paul rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to John's family and friends. I know John from A.I.B days and I have nothing but good memories and heartwarming stories of our encounters. He was such a kind hearted, witty guy who was always willing to help you out. He just text me literally a month ago as we share the same birthday 17th April he always got the birthday text in their first thing that morning ... always asked how the kids were getting on, hows work going and as 2 Man Utd supports we would often rant about the football.... but never told me he had been ill 😔 I'm sorry life has got so busy we didnt get to catch up over the last few years John R.I.P dear friend
I am shocked and saddened to hear about Johns passing. I got to know John from our daily calls on the mortgage helpline. John was a fountain of knowledge and the craic was always 90 with him.
