Deirdre, the death of a parent is an enormous loss, no matter how 'big' we kids get. I think it's even harder when we have them in our lives as we get older ourselves - the gap seems to shrink and we become even closer than when we were younger and terribly busy rearing our own families.

Saddened to hear of Johns passing. A gentleman to his fingertips. I enjoyed many a football and current affairs chat with him over a pint. That often happened while he was waiting on John junior to join him. He always spoke with deep fatherly pride Johnny about your career and it was wonderful to see the bond you had.
