I will never forget the truly warming and enjoyable talks with John during soft and lovely Connemara days not so long ago when I met him treating his Cats Woody and Smokey. May his gentle but humorous soul rest in peace. It was an honour knowing even a bit of You, John. You will be missed.
I have such fond memories of John, he used to let me play on his computer while he, Tracey and my parents drank/partied/both. I remember him to be patient, gentle and caring. A nice man who will be missed by many
Deepest sympathies from Clifden Arts Festival on the death of John. He enriched our lives and I often spoke to him about Spanish literature, music, and politics as I was trying to learn about the basics of the computer from him. May be rest in peace.
May John have everlasting peace.
I truly enjoyed when John and Tracey visited with us. They showered their nieces Elena and Natalia with affection, fun and promoted curiosity. John also taught his nieces some fabulous recipes. John was gentle and easy to speak with on any topic. John was especially kind, engaging, super smart with remarkable knowledge of literature, history and he his big love of music. His incredible love for Tracey was remarkable. Although, I have not visited with John in quiet some time, I hope John knows that I still remember him with great fondness and I have always appreciated him.
May we all minimize regrets.
Peace be with you John.

I was so very shocked to hear of John’s passing. It was his sister, Ana who gave me the devastating news and it saddens me greatly that he has left without a word.
I never saw John again since a lovely afternoon spent with him and my Uncle Xavier, his father, in Sitges, a resort town near Barcelona. He was nineteen at the time. Unfortunately our paths never crossed again...I respected his need for space and privacy.
As I read all your messages of condolences tonight from my home in Montreal, I feel I know him better and am glad to read what a fine man he became and how well loved he was. I do regret that we lost touch.
We are a small family, the Claros and although we live in different countries and across oceans, as my Aunt MariaAngels, his mother once expressed, we should yearn to value the family ties.
My prayers are with you John,
Your cousin, Nuria

A dear, intelligent and supremely loyal man - a truly good man. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and appreciating him.
Seeing John's photo gave me a jolt. I haven't seen him for so many years and this image seems to capture him perfectly, it looks as though we have caught him halfway through a joke or a prank and his eyes are sparkling mischievously with the fun of it. John was a very funny man and would often entertain us with his stories. I remember beer, sunshine, boats and laughter. Also it comes to mind how handsome and American he was, which seemed super 'exotic' to me. I know how you loved and cared for him Tracey and I'm so sorry for your loss. When these self isolating days are over let us go to Chorleywood common with a frisbee, some photos and a few drinks we will raise a toast to this lovely gentle man.
R.i.p john
Deeply sorry & shocked to hear about John. We met him & Tracey not long after they came to Ireland & connected as fellow "blow-ins". Their internet cafe was a first in Connemara. He helped us as dinosaurs of technology to overcome our resistance. John was a very private person. He loved nature & would call us to report on otters he'd seen on his walks, knowing we are big fans. He was a keen conservationist. We thank him for his friendship.
Devastating news...so sad. We loved John. He was smart and funny with a great taste in music. Although we hadn't spoken for a time we'll miss him. A good friend. We wish you heaven John
I only met John briefly through Tracey but could see the kindness and the shared history. This must be a huge shock & my thoughts are with John’s family, Tracey and friends. Much love xxxx

John was a wonderful man and a joy to be around. It's a sad loss to have him taken away from us and he will be missed tremendously.
Fond memories of John in the Two Dog Cafe. Always a pleasure to meet. May he rest in Peace.
I have happy memories of John, when Jill and myself stayed with him and Tracey, always the perfect hosts. John loved his music, and introduced me to bands I still listen to today, I have to mention John's home made Jack Daniels bbq ribs, I can still taste them now. Rest easy John.

We offer our sincerest sympathy to John's family. He was a lovely guy - witty, informed, interesting. We will miss him, our interesting chats and his quirky sense of humour. May he rest in peace.
John was the first cool person I ever met. He introduced me to guitars, thus beginning my first kid dream of being a rockstar. In his presence I felt accepted, welcome, inspired and at ease. Instinctually. When I turned 16 he sent me a silver claddagh necklace with an emerald heart that I have in my hand right now. I started writing the N in my name the way he did on that letter, with a fantastic curve on both ends. I wish I knew him better but my heart lifts for any words about him. I got the intense impression that he lived a life worthy of himself. He lived music, books, people, nature and indeed the universe (I just discovered he was the paper’s astronomer), traversing and curating a limitless inner world all along the way. Please pray for my uncle as he emerges into the Great Beyond.
John was always most courteous and gentle. May he rest in peace, his life's work done. Condolences to Tracey and all the family.
