It has been said that there is no greater monument to someone's life than the lasting affection of those who knew him.
John's son, Seamus, during Mass today, shared that his father did not want to be eulogized. John felt that those who knew him, knew him well. I was blessed to know John Geoghegan and I am deeply grateful for his friendship. John was a good man. He was "true blue" - ever loyal to his friends, and caring, kind, and helpful to all.
I will always remember John. He will have my lasting affection.

We always loved the visits to Ballybeg, from my grandmother Nancy’s time, to more recently. Meeting John was central to this, and meeting him coming in and out of Shannon airport was a great thrill for all the family. He was a sound man, he always had a good word, he will be sorely missed.
