We were so shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of John. As his eulogy said he was a proper old school gentleman with a word and a story for everyone. It must have taken him forever to walk 200m! I met him the day the pope was selected and he said he never thought he’d see the day he was older than the pope. I said imagine how you’ll feel when the next one is selected. Sadly this will not be. He was so dedicated to showing his solidarity with the Palestinian people, never without his Keffiyeh. Rest easy friend, we will miss you.
