Kingston’s Hardware was legendary. Always happy to need to go there and feel the ambience of an Aladdin’s cave! John was always smiling, gentle, kind, and ready to help. We in Skerries will always remember him.

I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I used to love a chat to John as he grabbed a hot drink before mass in Balbriggan. An absolute gentleman, who spoke so fondly of his late wife. May they have the best reunion in heaven. He will be greatly missed. RIP❤️

I was so sorry to hear of the death of John. I live in Skerries but worked in St Stephen's Green for many years. I often visited his two Dublin shops and,of course, the one in Skerries. As someone mentioned, they were like Aladdin's Caves and you would always (eventually) find what you were looking for. He was an absolute gentleman and became a Skerries institution. Sincere sympathies to the Kingston and Duff families.

So so very sorry to hear about the passing of John, a proper gentleman and a friend, never lost his temper (not ever when the house was broken into Dublin). Mary,Norma, Anna & extended Kingston family this is one funeral Iwanted to go to but I am in hospital after hip replacement last Tuesday.
