He was a generous volunteer in so many areas both at local and National level: the Community Games Association, the Mental Health Schools Public Speaking Competitions, The Sligo Person of the Year. John was a very special friend, always courteous and so willing to help regardless of what the problem might be and you could rest assured that John had the answer and the skill to solve it. He had the safest pair of hands given to man. We always loved to see John at the door.
