I had the privilege of meeting Johnny in Portiuncula.
He would walk smartly along swinging an umbrella. Had a distinctive voice & laugh & a grá for music.
I had a white board to communicate.
He remembered my uncle, who played music in Rathowen back in the day. My father would ask me after being in Portiuncula ' how is Johnny Weir ? '.
Johnny would remind me of his age, the last time I wrote 102 on the white board.
REST IN PEACE JOHNNY.
