John was a lovely gentleman and a wonderful neighbour, no job was a bother to him. Dad and John became friends through their shared interest in trucks 🚛and often sent us photos of the old AEC trucks that dad would have driven many years ago.
We will miss John and his truck,with it's unique sound,on the road.
Keep on truckin up there in Heaven John 🚛💭

Whats the crack Aido. Ah you'll be alright. Keep her lit. John had a long list of sayings, was a great man for having a laugh and singing a song. Fairytale of New York is one that springs to mind.

He was always quick to lend a helping hand. Whether it was the time i lost my phone in a car engine, or when i got the back wheels of a tractor stuck 6ft in the air (twice) and he calmly brought it back down to earth.

Family became the centre of the world for John. Himself and Noeleen were a fantastic team. Fran, Katie and Joe are an absolute credit to them.

Thanks for all the memories John, its fair to say we have seen a few sings of you still being around Tenure in the last few days. RIP

We have nothing but wonderful memories of John, Franner and all the Whelans enjoying the land and what it produced throughout our early life and still talked about to this day with utter fondness.

John absolutely adored his children, they were his work on this earth. His pride in them was immense.

When John comes to mind, laughter comes to mind. Mischief, divilment or a joke were never far away when John was involved. He lived to laugh.

Getting to know John through Noeleen, who he loved, we shared days, evenings, drinks and the odd truck journey. He was always generous. He was always good company. And he’d let you know if he thought you weren’t on that day!

He carried a burden these last few months. He’s free of that burden now.

To John, you can rest in peace now, thank you for the laughs.

To his family, we’ll always be here for you.
